Danny Drinkwater has reportedly turned down a new and improved deal offered to him by Premier League champions Leicester City.
The 26-year-old, a key member of the Foxes' title-winning side, still has two years left to run on the £30,000-per-week contract signed in 2014.
According to The Sun, Leicester were keen to bump up the Englishman's weekly wage to around £80,000 to bring him in line with other members of the squad, such as Jamie Vardy who extended his terms earlier this summer.
Drinkwater's representatives are said to have knocked back City's offer, however, with Tottenham Hotspur now circling and keeping a close eye on the situation in the final fortnight of the transfer window.
Despite helping Leicester to the title last season, Drinkwater failed to make England's squad for the European Championship finals in France.
