Morgan Schneiderlin 'changes his mind' about leaving Southampton

Ronald Koeman reveals that Morgan Schneiderlin has "changed his mind" and will remain at Southampton, despite reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has revealed that midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has "changed his mind" about leaving St Mary's following reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Frenchman is said to have tried to orchestrate a move away from the Premier League outfit, but the Saints have stood firm on their desire to keep hold of the midfielder.

Schneiderlin started in yesterday's 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield after Koeman confirmed that he was mentally ready to play.

"He's a player of Southampton," Koeman told reporters. "He changed his mind, he changed his mentality. He showed us that last week - he's a key player."

Southampton have already sold Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Calum Chambers this summer.
