Mark Hughes "disappointed" by Stoke City defending

Mark Hughes admits that he was left feeling "upset" by the way his side conceded from a set piece against Manchester United last time out.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has admitted that his side must continue to work on their defending from set pieces.

The Potters have been famed for being strong while both attacking and defending crosses into the box in the past, although that has changed somewhat under the leadership of the former Queens Park Rangers boss.

Radamel Falcao's equaliser in Stoke's 1-1 draw against Manchester United last time out came directly from a corner, and Hughes believes that his charges must plug away at that aspect of their game ahead of tomorrow's FA Cup meeting against Wrexham.

"We were disappointed by that," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. "That was one detail of the game we were upset about. But it is not the first time, in fairness.

"There have been other occasions where we haven't quite done our jobs in terms of stopping the opposition scoring from set plays. In terms of our strength at set plays, I think it is overstated to be perfectly honest - we don't score that many."

Stoke are currently 11th in the Premier League table.
