Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross has expressed his disappointment over the exit of manager Tony Pulis after seven years at the Britannia Stadium.

Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross has admitted that he is "gutted" about the departure of manager Tony Pulis from the club.

The Potters and the 55-year-old parted on mutual terms ending his seven-year reign at the Britannia Stadium.

Shawcross wrote on Twitter: "Gutted at the news. The gaffer has been different class with me. Wish him all the best in the future.#bigseasonahead"

Under Pulis, Stoke finished 13th in the Premier League last season, but in previous years he led them to the FA Cup final and into the last 32 of the Europa League.
