Stoke City's Ryan Shawcross: "We need to be more ruthless"

Ryan Shawcross says that Stoke City need to be more clinical after this afternoon's Premier League defeat against Fulham.

Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross has claimed that his side deserved to beat Fulham in their Premier League match this afternoon.

The Potters went into the game having lost their previous two league fixtures and a late goal from Darren Bent condemned them to a 1-0 defeat.

"It was one of those days where things just didn't go our way, and to be honest it is hard to take because we couldn't have been any more dominant," he told the club's official website.

"I thought we controlled the game, and never ever looked in any danger of taking nothing away with us.

"We need to be more ruthless though – there is no doubt about that. We had chances but again weren't able to put any of them away and that has cost us dearly in the end."

The loss has left Stoke 16th in the Premier League table.
