Sunderland have announced that Duncan Watmore has agreed a new contract at the Stadium of Light.
The 21-year-old broke into the first team on Wearside following the appointment of Sam Allardyce last month.
His form since then was said to have alerted a number of clubs, but the striker has put an end to speculation by agreeing to fresh terms that do not expire until 2020.
"I'm delighted to sign my new deal and commit my future to Sunderland," he told the club's official website.
"I've had a great few years here developing my game and now I hope to push on further, with the help of the staff, my teammates and the supporters, who have all been fantastic with me."
Last season Watmore was named the Player of the Year in the Under-21s Premier League.
