Leon Britton is already looking towards the 500-mark ahead of his 400th game for Swansea City this weekend.

Swansea City midfielder Leon Britton has said that he is targeting 500 games for the club.

The 30-year-old will make his 400th appearance against Reading tomorrow.

He arrived in South Wales after impressing on loan from West Ham United in 2002, and has helped the club progress through the football league into the top flight.

"When I made my debut against Exeter City on loan, I didn't dream of playing 400 games for the club and still being here 10 years later," he told the club's official website.

"The legends at this club have played a similar amount of games, so it means a lot.

"My target for the last few years has been to break the 500-game mark. Hopefully I've got a few years left to achieve that."

Swansea boss Michael Laudrup called Britton 'an institution' ahead of the weekend's game.

The midfielder himself has enjoyed his time in Swansea.

He continued: "It's a special club. When you have been on the journey this club has, you can't help but grow close. The fans, players, managers - everyone has played their part.

"This is somewhere I'll be living after I finish playing. I'm married to a Swansea girl and I love the area."

Swansea take on Reading tomorrow at 3pm having lost their last three Premier League games.
