Preview: Turkey vs. Northern Ireland

Sports Mole looks ahead to Friday's friendly between Turkey and Northern Ireland in Adana.

Michael O'Neill will take charge of Northern Ireland for the first time since signing a new two-year contract on Friday when his side take on Turkey in a friendly in Adana.

The 44-year-old was appointed the manager of the national team in 2011 before penning fresh terms with the Irish Football Association at the start of the month.

However, O'Neill has managed just one win during his two-year spell as Ireland boss.

Turkey come into the match having recently finished in fourth place in their World Cup qualifying group.

Jamie Ward, Gareth McAuley, Chris Brunt and Michael O'Connor have all pulled out of the Ireland squad ahead of the match, while Ryan McGivern and James McPake have both been added.

Shane Ferguson did not travel with his teammates on Tuesday due to illness, but the midfielder is expected to be available for the match.
