Report: Valencia target Ezequiel Garay

Valencia are reportedly interested in signing Zenit St Petersburg defender Ezequiel Garay as a replacement for Nicolas Otamendi.

Valencia have reportedly targeted Zenit St Petersburg defender Ezequiel Garay as a possible candidate to replace Nicolas Otamendi.

After months of speculation, Nuno Esprito Santo's side are set to lose Otamendi after they agreed a fee with Manchester City for the 27-year-old.

However, AS claims that Valencia are ready to move quickly to fill the void in their squad, but a potential move for Garay, who moved to Zenit from Benfica last summer, could hinge on whether they secure a spot in the Champions League group stage.

The report suggests that Valencia also hold an interest in Stuttgart defender Antonio Rudiger, who is rumoured to be close to joining Roma.

Los Che take on Monaco in the first leg of their Champions League qualifying tie with Monaco on Wednesday.
