Neil Taylor: 'Gareth Bale deserves Euro 2016 finals spot'

Wales left-back Neil Taylor wants to make sure that he and his teammates help Gareth Bale reach the finals of a major tournament.

Wales left-back Neil Taylor has claimed that he and his national teammates want to make sure that Gareth Bale reaches the finals of a major tournament.

The Real Madrid winger marked his 50th Dragons cap with the winner in Friday's 1-0 home victory over Belgium in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Chris Coleman's charges are now three points clear in Group B with four games remaining and in a strong position to reach the tournament finals in France.

Taylor, who plays for Swansea City, told BBC Sport: "[Bale] deserves to be at a major finals. He has ability beyond everyone else on the football pitch which allows him to do the stuff he does.

"We want to get there together. We all want to be there and helping each other. We want to make something of where we are.

"We want to achieve something at international level and we are well on our way to doing that."

Wales have not reached the finals of a major tournament since the 1958 World Cup.
