Craig Beattie joins Watford

Craig Beattie is hoping that a loan move to Watford will help improve his match sharpness.

Watford have completed the signing of Swansea City striker Craig Beattie on a loan deal until January.

The 27-year-old has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League for the Swans this season having picked up an ankle injury in training.

However, he has now recovered and is hoping that a temporary switch to Vicarage Road will help improve his match sharpness.

"I've met the coaches at Watford and it seems a nice club," Beattie told Swansea's official website. "The ankle injury I picked up recently set me back a bit, but now I'm feeling fit and raring to go.

"I just need some game time, some action, and I'm looking forward to the challenge at Watford.

"I want to play first team football again and I will be doing my best to help the Hornets as much as I can during the loan spell."

Beattie has found the net seven times for Swansea since his move from West Bromwich Albion in 2009.
