Steve Clarke has revealed that Chris Brunt will retain the West Bromwich Albion captaincy this season.

Brunt has been skipper of the Baggies since he replaced Scott Carson during Roberto Di Matteo's tenure in charge, and Clarke has admitted that he sees no reason why Brunt should not continue in the role.

Clarke said: "I haven't seen any reason to change the captaincy and I have said that since early on."

Brunt helped West Brom to achieve their best ever Premier League finish of 10 place last season.
