Terry Burton appointed West Bromwich Albion technical director

West Bromwich Albion name Terry Burton as the club's new technical director.

West Bromwich Albion have appointed Terry Burton as the club's new technical director.

The 61-year-old, who is currently Arsenal's head of youth coaching, will officially join the Baggies on June 1.

Burton returns to The Hawthorns having spent four months as an assistant coach to Roy Hodgson during the 2011-12 campaign.

He is due to work alongside Richard Garlick, who has acted as the club's sporting and technical director for the past year.

"It's great to welcome Terry back to the club. His knowledge and experience of the game is second to none," chairman Jeremy Peace told West Brom's official website.

"Terry made a lasting impression during his time here two seasons ago and comes highly recommended for his new role.

"The appointment of Terry, who has vast experience of coaching, developing young players and identifying talent, can only strengthen the club."

West Brom are currently looking for a new manager following Pepe Mel's departure on Monday.
