Steve Clarke aiming for Newcastle United victory

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke wants to end Newcastle United's three-match Premier League winning run this weekend.

Steve Clarke has said that he hopes West Bromwich Albion can end Newcastle United's current winning run.

The Magpies have won their last three Premier League games, and while Clarke reserved praise for Alan Pardew's side, he made it clear that he is not looking to come away from this weekend's fixture at St James' Park empty-handed.

"Newcastle have done something that's really difficult to do in the Premier League which is win three games in a row," he told the club's official website. "Any team that manages to do that means their situation, their feeling about themselves, their position in the league will change dramatically.

"It happened to us last year when we managed to string together four wins in a row which rocketed us up into the top four at one stage.

"Newcastle have done that with three really big results for them, so it's up to us to make sure it doesn't become four big ones."

West Brom are currently 11th in the Premier League table.
