Pepe Mel: 'We need wins soon'

West Bromwich Albion manager Pepe Mel admits that he is a manager under pressure to win matches.

West Bromwich Albion manager Pepe Mel has admitted that he is a manager under pressure to win matches.

The West Midlands outfit have claimed two points out of a possible nine since the former Real Betis boss joined the club in January.

The Spaniard, however, has claimed that he has already seen an improvement in West Brom's play since his arrival, and that it bodes well for their chances of avoiding relegation.

"Yes, I am the head coach," Mel told Sky Sports News. "I know it's important to win matches because West Brom need to stay in the Premier League.

"It's about precision. I need to change things, and the last match (a 1-1 draw with Liverpool) was better... but I know we need 90-minute performances, and I hope we get them soon because we need to take three points.

"In March, April, we need to be calm, to know we are in the Premier League for next season."

The Baggies are 16th in the league, just a point above the drop zone.
