Tony Pulis tips Alan Pardew to succeed Roy Hodgson as England manager

Tony Pulis believes that counterpart Alan Pardew is an excellent candidate to succeed Roy Hodgson as manager of England.

Tony Pulis has said that Alan Pardew should "definitely come into the frame" when the Football Association chooses Roy Hodgson's successor as England manager.

West Bromwich Albion boss Pulis was speaking ahead of his match against Pardew's Crystal Palace on Saturday lunchtime and praised his opposite number's work at both Palace and Newcastle United.

"When you look at Alan's record over the years he's been as good as anybody," Pulis told reporters.

"Knowing Roy he will want to do the Euros and the next World Cup, but if you're looking for the next England manager Pardew's got to be looked at. He would definitely come into the frame for me.

"He's done very well everywhere he's been. He's done a fantastic job at Newcastle and I don't think he got the credit he deserved. Now he's gone to Palace and picked it up."

Pardew is currently second-favourite behind Gary Neville to succeed Hodgson.
