Former Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson reportedly rejects the chance to return to West Bromwich Albion as manager this summer.

Former Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has reportedly rejected the chance to return to West Bromwich Albion, where he spent one-and-a-half seasons in charge.

Hodgson departed Selhurst Park at the end of the season after overseeing 162 games during a four-year spell in Croydon, and now that he is without a club his former employers at the Hawthorns are showing interest in his services.

After leaving Liverpool in January 2011, Hodgson was appointed manager of West Brom just one month later and he took charge of 55 games until the end of the 2011-12 campaign, before taking England to Euro 2012.

Football Insider reports that, despite the interest from West Brom, Hodgson is keen to take a break and is not looking for an immediate return to management.

The West Midlands club have reportedly concluded their pursuit of former Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder, and will now look to Lincoln City boss and former Baggies coach Michael Appleton.

After relegation from the Premier League, West Brom are preparing for a season in the Championship with the 2021-22 fixtures being released on June 24.
