West Bromwich Albion's James Morrison: 'I would have considered Celtic move'

West Bromwich Albion midfielder James Morrison admits that he would have considering joining Celtic had his club not blocked a move.

West Bromwich Albion midfielder James Morrison has admitted that he would have considered moving to Celtic had his club not rejected an approach from the Scottish outfit.

The Baggies reportedly turned down Celtic's attempt to take Morrison on loan, despite the Scotland international struggling for first-team action at The Hawthorns.

The transfer window closed for business last week, but when it is reopened in January, Morrison has claimed that he will consider all options if he is still lacking regular game time.

"It was just an enquiry [from Celtic], that's all," the Birmingham Mail quotes Morrison as saying. "Obviously I am not playing at my club at the moment and there was an enquiry, but the club said no.

"With my position at the minute I would definitely have considered it. But it didn't happen so I am just looking forward to trying to get back into the team. The last day of the window was the first time I'd heard of it. My first goal is to get back playing regularly for my club again and try and force my way back into the Scotland team.

"January is a long time away, but I'd have to seriously consider my position at the club if I'm not playing. I was injured for a bit and I'm still not getting games. I'll have to look at it."

Morrison has been a West Brom player since his 2007 move from Middlesbrough.
