Steve Cotterill hails Sam Allardyce

Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill hails the job that Sam Allardyce has done at West Ham United ahead of the FA Cup tie between the two teams at Ashton Gate.

Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill has hailed the job that Sam Allardyce has done at West Ham United.

Cotterill's side meet the Hammers in the fourth round of the FA Cup this afternoon, and the Robins' boss praised his opposite number ahead of the tie.

"It's fantastic that he's getting the credit he deserves there," Cotterill told reporters. "I remember when he went there in they were in the Championship and that's a tough league to get out of.

"He's taken them to seventh in the Premier League and he's done a great job wherever he's been. He deserves it."

Bristol are currently second in the League One table.
