West Ham United manager David Moyes says that striker Marko Arnautovic is capable of playing in any team when on his best form.

West Ham United manager David Moyes has said that striker Marko Arnautovic is capable of playing in any team when on his best form.

The Austrian international, who failed to impress under former Hammers boss Slaven Bilic, has been directly involved in 10 goals since Moyes took charge at the London Stadium.

The Scot, who said that Arnautovic has got the self-belief to succeed, has backed the striker to continue his good form for the club.

"He's got the footballing ability, he's certainly got the self belief I'll tell you that," the manager told reporters. "And that sometimes is needed when you're a forward, you need self-confidence and arrogance and he has certainly got that.

"I think that if he keeps form, doesn't lose his focus and doesn't go back to the way he was then he could play for any team. He has shown he can and long may it continue. I am saying it because I want him to hear it.

"If I think he is stepping back to how he was before I got here then I am not going to have it, I told him that. He's too good now and we need him. I think his play has been consistent, he has contributed in scoring and making goals, effort has been very good, very high work ethic in the games so if he keeps it up we will be more than happy."

West Ham sit 12th in the Premier League table, four points outside the relegation zone.
