Roberto Martinez believes Wigan just need a few minor changes in order to turn their season around.

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has expressed his belief that his side can turn their season around with a few small changes.

The Latics are currently bottom of the Premier League with a tough fixture schedule ahead of them, but Martinez believes that the margins between winning and losing have been very small for the club this season.

"I think we are missing six or seven points and the margins between having those points and not are very small. That is not plucking a figure out of the air, it is how the games have gone," said the 38-year-old manager.

"But there is a real sense of responsibility in our squad and we have learnt a lot from previous seasons. The small details have a massive effect in this league and that comes with experience.

"We have developed maturity in our squad and I am pleased with the way we have dealt with those disappointing moments."

Wigan survived on the last day of the season last year but are strong favourites to be relegated this time.
