Preview: Wigan Athletic vs. Norwich City

Sports Mole previews that Championship match between Wigan Athletic and Norwich City at the DW Stadium.

Two sides that have been sliding down the Championship table in recent weeks will go head to head when Wigan Athletic host Norwich City this weekend.

The Latics are still awaiting their first win under new manager Malky Mackay, with last weekend's defeat to Sheffield Wednesday leaving the team in the relegation zone.

Mackay's appointment has been somewhat controversial as he continues to be investigated by the FA for allegedly sending homophobic, racist and sexist messages during his spell at Cardiff City, while chairman Dave Whelan has been given a further week to provide evidence after he was accused of making anti-Semitic comments.

In more positive news, the hosts have reported no fresh injury problems following their 2-1 loss to the Owls last weekend.

Meanwhile, Norwich come into this match with just one win in their last 10, despite having led the league just a few weeks ago.

The Canaries have slipped to 11th in the table following their 2-1 defeat to Reading last weekend, leaving them eight points adrift of the league leaders.

Neil Adams has been without several first-team regulars during his side's recent slump, but Ryan Bennett, Wes Hoolahan and Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe have all returned to training this week.

The manager admits that it is unlikely that all three will feature this weekend, but has not ruled out any of them.

However, Alex Tettey will be in the squad despite limping out of last weekend's match early.

Both matches were won by the home side in the two meetings between this pairing last season.
