Half-Time Report: Bas Dost hands lead to Wolfsburg

Bas Dost's header hands Wolfsburg a 1-0 lead over Hannover at the halfway stage of their Bundesliga clash.

Bas Dost's header has given Wolfsburg a 1-0 lead over Hannover at the half-time interval.

An early chance arrived for the hosts when Christian Trasch collected the ball in space out wide, but his inviting cross was headed past the post by Dost.

Hannover struggled to keep the ball as the Wolfsburg midfield dominated the early stages, and they wasted a good opening when Hiroshi Kiyotake fired straight at Diego Benaglio from the edge of the box.

However, the visitors improved as the game progressed and created a great chance when Artur Sobiech sprinted clear before hesitating to allow Naldo to make a crucial block.

Hannover would pay the price for not learning from their early lesson as Wolfsburg took the lead five minutes before the break when the unmarked Dost headed in from Daniel Caligiuri's cross.
