Wolfsburg draw with Freiburg

Wolfsburg are pegged back twice by Freiburg to draw 2-2 in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.

Wolfsburg and Freiburg shared the points in an entertaining 2-2 draw in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.

The game could not have started any better for the home side, as after a solid early spell of possession Ricardo Rodriguez picked out Ivan Perisic from a free kick and the winger made no mistake with his header.

Ivica Olic then had a chance on 10 minutes to double the advantage, but he could only get underneath the ball from a Kevin de Bruyne corner and sent his effort over the bar.

The home side continued to control proceedings but there were few real clear-cut efforts on goal, as Maximilian Arnold drilled a shot from the edge of the box narrowly wide.

Not long after the break Perisic forced Oliver Baumann into a fine save, with the goalkeeper tipping over the bar as the pressure remained on the visitors.

However, Wolfsburg were made to rue their missed opportunities as Freiburg levelled just after the hour. Admir Mehmedi was found by Vladimir Darida to finish low from the corner of the box.

Wolfsburg managed to get themselves back on top with a fine low finish from Perisic, but Freiburg came forward once more and grabbed a late leveller with Marco Terrazzino's finish from the corner of the six-yard box.
