Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath has insisted that defender Simon Kjaer still has a future with the club.
The Danish international spent last season on loan with Italian club Roma following several disagreements with Magath.
However, the boss has insisted that Kjaer has a second chance to make an impression with the German side.
"There has been a lot of misunderstanding in the media, but Simon Kjaer is contracted to Wolfsburg and he will of course get a new chance here," he told Ekstra Bladet.
"Every player at Wolfsburg will get a new chance. I don't know if he will stay, but if nothing materialises then we will see how he fits in."
Kjaer has recently been linked with Newcastle United.
