Birmingham City have defeated Yeovil Town 1-0 at Huish Park in the Championship to claim their first win of the season.

Yeovil created the better openings during the first half and nearly made the breakthrough in added time when James Hayter's low effort came back off the post.

However, the visitors went ahead soon after the restart as an attempted clearance from a corner came off Dan Seaborne's head before going into his own net.

The home side came close to grabbing an equaliser on the hour mark, but Darren Randolph saved with his legs to deny Byron Webster from close range.

Meanwhile, Yeovil goalkeeper Gareth Stewart was kept busy at the other end in the final stages as he beat away Andrew Shinnie's shot on the angle.

Despite some late pressure from the hosts, they failed to get themselves back on terms.
