Hull owner Adam Pearson apologises to fans for playoff defeat

Hull owner Adam Pearson apologises to the club's fans following their heavy playoff defeat to Huddersfield Giants.

Hull owner Adam Pearson has apologised to the club's fans for their "embarrassing" Super League playoff defeat to Huddersfield Giants.

The club suffered a 76-18 loss at the Galpharm Stadium, prompting Pearson to promise the travelling fans a future discount.

"On behalf of the club, I want to apologise unreservedly for the embarrassing performance that was produced in our playoff fixture last night," Pearson told the club's official website.

"As a gesture of good will from the club, every supporter who attended the game will receive the admission price of their ticket as a discount when renewing or buying a season pass for 2014."

The result has raised questions over coach Peter Gentle's future.
