David Pocock in contention to face Scotland

Michael Cheika says that no decision has been made over David Pocock's involvement against Scotland, but he expects to have the flanker available.

Australia head coach Michael Cheika has revealed that he expects to have David Pocock fit and ready to face Scotland next weekend.

The flanker underwent a scan on a calf injury picked up against Wales, which made him a doubt for the quarter-final clash at Twickenham.

Cheika remains confident that Pocock will shake off the knock, however, having also been given a boost by the news that the 27-year-old will escape any disciplinary action following an incident involving Scott Baldwin on Saturday.

"With that guy's mentality he could probably be ready tomorrow," he is quoted as saying by Yahoo! Sport. "We'll just let it play out. We'll let it follow it's course with the medics and go from there.

"I personally feel that [the disciplinary matters] have been dealt with relatively well. That's good (news). It goes in swings and roundabouts, those types of things.

"There's clear instructions. I think the referees on field are doing the same. They're refereeing the tournament really well and clearly. Most things are getting picked up."

Full-back Israel Folau is also expected to be fit enough to feature against Scotland in six days' time.
