Northampton's Dylan Hartley dropped from England World Cup squad

Northampton Saints hooker Dylan Hartley is dropped from England's World Cup squad following his four-match ban for headbutting.

Northampton Saints captain Dylan Hartley has been dropped from England's World Cup squad after being issued with a four-week ban for headbutting.

The 29-year-old was cited for foul play after headbutting Saracens' Jamie George during his side's 29-24 defeat last Saturday.

The suspension would have kept Hartley out of England's World Cup opener against Fiji on September 18, but head coach Stuart Lancaster has opted to drop the hooker from the squad entirely.

Hartley has missed 50 weeks in his career so far due to six separate suspensions.
