Agnieszka Radwanska sweeps Heather Watson aside

Agnieszka Radwanska defeats Heather Watson 6-3 6-1 to book her place in the fourth round of the Australian Open.

Agnieszka Radwanska has ended Heather Watson's run at the Australian Open with a straight-sets triumph in Melbourne.

The first opportunity to break came Watson's way, but Radwanska rallied from 15-40 down to eventually hold her serve.

The Pole made the breakthrough to go 3-2 up on serve, before a double break saw her serving for the first set at 5-2.

Watson then struck back, claiming one of the breaks back as Radwanska looked edgy in finishing.

However, the world number four wrapped up the set by breaking Watson for a third time in the very next game.

Radwanska picked up from where she left off in the first set, although she had to fend off a couple of break points in her opening service game.

From then on in, it was one-way traffic as Radwanska closed in on victory with some dominating play from the baseline.

Watson spared herself the indignity of losing a set to love by holding serve, and had three break points in the very next game.

However, she could not stop Radwanska serving her way to a 6-3 6-1 victory.

The Pole will now play the winner of Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic.
