Judy Murray: 'Andy and Jamie wish they could have competed in Glasgow'

Andy and Jamie Murray's mother Judy reveals that her sons "would have loved to have been competing in the Commonwealth Games" if tennis were included.

Judy Murray has revealed that both Andy and Jamie Murray wish they could have been competing at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Organisers left tennis out of the programme of events, and Andy turned down an invite to appear at the opening ceremony.

"Both Andy and Jamie would have loved to have been here competing in the Commonwealth Games and representing Scotland. They enjoyed playing tennis at the Olympics, and there is nothing better than representing your country in front of your own home fans," Murray told BBC Sport.

"Tennis actually featured in Delhi, although at the time of year it was held it wasn't great with Masters Series events which count towards ranking points. However, at this time of the year it would have been fine to include tennis because there is a bit of a break after Wimbledon."

Andy Murray is currently in Florida, where he is training at his Miami base ahead of the US Open, which begins on August 25.
