Serena Williams's coach "not surprised" by Andy Murray, Amelie Mauresmo split

Serena Williams's coach Patrick Mouratoglou says that he is "not surprised" by Andy Murray's split with coach Amelie Mauresmo.

Serena Williams's coach Patrick Mouratoglou has admitted that he is "not surprised" by the news that Andy Murray and Amelie Mauresmo have parted company.

The world number three announced on Monday that he has decided to split with his coach following a two-year partnership.

During that time, Murray reached the final of the Australian Open and the semi-finals of both the French Open and Wimbledon.

Mouratoglou, who has coached Williams since June 2012, has admitted that he was not shocked by the news.

"To be completely honest I was not surprised because we've seen in the last weeks different things that made us suppose that something was wrong," BBC Sport quotes Mouratoglou as saying.

Murray won his first clay-court tournaments with Mauresmo as his coach last year - he earned titles in Madrid and Munich.
