Rafel Nadal will meet fellow Spaniard and defending champion David Ferrer in the final of the Mexican Open after edging Nicolas Almagro in a tight semi-final.

Rafael Nadal has set up an all-Spanish final against David Ferrer at the Mexican Open by edging out another Spaniard, Nicolas Almagro, in straight sets.

Almagro dropped serve just twice in the match but that was enough for Nadal to oust the 27-year-old 7-5 6-4.

He now meets defending champion Ferrer, who came through a two-hour 23-minute match against Italian Fabio Fognini 6-3 6-7 6-1.
