Andy Murray to meet Tommy Robredo in Valencia Open final

Tommy Robredo beats Jeremy Chardy in straight sets to book his place in tomorrow's Valencia Open final, where he will face Britain's Andy Murray.

Tommy Robredo has set up a meeting with Andy Murray in the final of the Valencia Open by overcoming Jeremy Chardy 7-6 7-6 this evening.

The first set went the way of serve until the eighth game when Chardy broke his Spanish opponent, but Robredo wrestled back control by winning serve in the following game and eventually took the opener to a tiebreak.

Robredo survived three set points before taking control and prevailed 9-7 to edge ahead in the contest.

It was a similar story in the second with the world number 21 needing a breaker to overcome Chardy, this time making lighter work of the Frenchman to come out on top 7-2 and progress through.

Murray eased past David Ferrer in straight sets earlier today to keep alive his hopes of reaching next month's ATP World Tour Finals.
