Roger Federer blows away Novak Djokovic in Cincinnati Open final

Roger Federer beats Novak Djokovic in straight sets to claim the Cincinnati Open title.

Roger Federer was won the Cincinnati Open title after a straight-sets victory over world number one Novak Djokovic.

Neither player looked to give an inch in the first set, with Federer extending his run of service games without a break beyond 40 this week.

Indeed, it was Djokovic who was forced to save four break points before taking the opener to a tie-break.

However, the Serb was on the back foot throughout the breaker as Federer saw it out 7-1.

Things got worse for Djokovic, who had failed to win in four previous Cincinnati finals, when he conceded an early break of serve to the former world number one to trail 3-0 in the second.

Federer had a point for a double-break in the sixth game of the set, but didn't need it as he wrapped up the match 7-6[1] 6-3.
