Milos Raonic keeps Shanghai Masters hopes alive

Milos Raonic sees off the threat of Roberto Bautista Agut to books his place in the last 16 of the Shanghai Masters.

Milos Raonic overcame Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4(3) 6-7 7-6(5) to reach the last 16 of the Shanghai Masters this afternoon.

The first set went the way of the Canadian thanks to one break of serve, but Bautista Agut hit back in the second set, which went into a tie-breaker.

However, just as he did when the two players met in St Petersburg two weeks ago, it was Raonic who eventually came out on top.

Another breaker was required, but on this occasion it was Raonic that prospered to record his third victory in a row against the Spaniard.

The world number nine will now take on either Rafael Nadal for a place in the quarter-finals.
