David O'Leary: 'FA Cup Arsenal's only chance of silverware this season'

Former Arsenal defender David O'Leary claims that the FA Cup is the Gunners' only chance of silverware this season.

Former Arsenal defender David O'Leary has said that the FA Cup is the Gunners' only chance of silverware after their 5-1 defeat at Liverpool yesterday.

The result at Anfield saw Arsene Wenger's side drop to second in the Premier League.

The former Leeds and Aston Villa manager, who spent 18 years with the North London outfit, told The Mirror: "Arsenal were absolutely shocking.

"I'd love to be proved wrong, but Chelsea and Manchester City are the favourites. Jose Mourinho seems to get teams over the line.

"So the FA Cup is the one where you can see them cracking this long spell without a trophy. That would be great, and that's where I see them."

The Gunners have not won a trophy since 2005.
