Guillem Balague: 'Arsenal have zero chance of keeping Martin Odegaard'

Arsenal have 'zero chance' of signing Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid on a permanent basis, according to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague.

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has claimed that Arsenal have 'zero chance' of keeping Martin Odegaard at the club beyond the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

The Gunners signed the Norway international on loan from Real Madrid in the final stages of the January transfer window, with the playmaker struggling for action in the Spanish capital.

There have been suggestions that Mikel Arteta's side could attempt to acquire the 22-year-old permanently this summer if he impresses at the Emirates Stadium.

However, Balague has ruled out the possibility of the capital giants keeping hold of Odegaard.

"Zero, I think. Real Madrid need to build a future based on the youngsters that they bought," the journalist said on his YouTube channel when questioned on Arsenal's chances of signing him on a long-term basis.

The Norwegian, who has a contract at the Bernabeu until the summer of 2023, made his Gunners debut against Manchester United in the Premier League at the end of January.
