Atletico Madrid captain Gabi thanks the fans after Los Rojiblancos beat Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-final.

Atletico Madrid captain Gabi has dedicated their Champions League quarter-final win against Barcelona to their supporters.

Los Rojiblancos edged past Barca 1-0 on Wednesday night to go through 2-1 on aggregate, and the 30-year-old thanked the fans after the game.

"We have been working hard over these past years to be among the best and little by little we are doing that," he told reporters.

"We dedicate the victory to the people who have supported us in difficult moments, who have suffered at times in some of the hard years we have had recently.

"The league is close and there are still six games where we have to fight. On Sunday we have a very important game against an opponent that is often underestimated."

Diego Simeone's side are currently top of La Liga.
