Sports Mole looks at how Chelsea could line up for Wednesday night's pre-season fixture against Newcastle United in the United States.

Mauricio Pochettino may look to shuffle his pack against Newcastle United on Wednesday as Chelsea play their third Stateside friendly in the space of a week.

The newly-appointed head coach has taken the opportunity to assess as many players as possible against Wrexham and Brighton & Hove Albion, and rotation will again come into the equation versus the Magpies.

Malo Gusto and Andrey Santos could be among those who drop to the substitutes' bench having started the previous two matches, although Carney Chukwuemeka may retain his spot further forward due being withdrawn at half time against Brighton.

Depending on Reece James's fitness, Marc Cucurella may switch to right-back to replace Gusto, with Trevoh Chalobah and Lewis Hall also in line for recalls.

Enzo Fernandez could be handed his first start of the summer in place of Santos, while Cesare Casadei may be recalled ahead of Conor Gallagher who played the full 90 minutes on Saturday.

Ian Maatsen may be handed a rest for Diego Moreira to receive another opportunity on the flank, with Raheem Sterling also potentially featuring from the opening whistle with Chelsea currently not blessed with senior options in the final third.

Having come through an hour against Brighton, Christopher Nkunku may be replaced by fellow new signing Nicolas Jackson down the centre of the attack.

Levi Colwill has had a minimal break since representing England Under-21s at the European Championship and may be rested for this contest after playing the majority of the encounter with his former club at the weekend.

Mykhaylo Mudryk falls into a similar bracket to Colwill and could also be restricted to an outing from the bench at best.

Chelsea possible starting lineup: Arrizabalaga, Cucurella, Silva, Chalobah, Hall; Fernandez, Casadei; Moreira, Chukwuemeka, Sterling; Jackson
