A report claims that Chelsea transfer target Joao Felix is close to signing a new deal with Benfica, which will see his release clause climb past the £100m mark.

Chelsea are reportedly running out of time to sign Joao Felix from Benfica as the attacking midfielder has been offered a new deal.

The 18-year-old, who has starred for the Portuguese giants in the first quarter of the 2018-19 campaign, is currently available for £45m.

According to The Mirror, however, Felix is close to putting pen to paper on fresh terms with Benfica, which will see his release clause climb to £105m.

Maurizio Sarri is said to have closely monitored the youngster, while clubs in Italy and Spain are also thought to have made their interest known.

Felix, tipped to join West Ham United during the summer transfer window, has netted five times since being promoted to Benfica's first team earlier this year.
