Chelsea must fend off interest from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid to secure the signature of Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico, according to a report.

Chelsea will reportedly have to fend off interest from Barcelona to secure the signature of Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico.

With Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri both facing uncertain futures at Stamford Bridge, the Blues have been tipped to bring in a new left-back during the summer transfer window.

Leicester City's Ben Chilwell is said to be Frank Lampard's primary target, while Chelsea are also rumoured to be keeping tabs on the future of Real Madrid's Sergio Reguilon.

Tagliafico has been linked with a switch to the blue side of London in the past, and according to Sky Sports News, Chelsea are firmly interested in the Ajax defender.

The Blues have already acquired Hakim Ziyech from Ajax ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, but the report claims that Barcelona have also been keeping a close eye on Tagliafico as of late.

Fellow La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are also said to be monitoring the situation.
