Diego Simeone 'not surprised' by Diego Costa interest

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone says that it is "normal" that Chelsea are interested in signing Diego Costa.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has admitted that it is "normal" that Chelsea are interested in signing Diego Costa.

The Premier League outfit have been widely linked with a move for the Spanish international, who has scored 34 times in all competitions this season.

Simeone has insisted that Costa is Atletico's "for now", but has not ruled out a move for the powerful striker at the end of the season.

"It depends on him and what he believes is best for his future," he told Onda Cero.

"I will support any decision. It's normal that Chelsea are interested in him. They have great economic potential. Samuel Eto'o is getting older and Diego Costa could do his job, but for now, he's ours."

A number of European clubs are also believed to be monitoring developments.
