Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to make a renewed attempt to sign Club Brugge winger Antonio Nusa after Brentford failed to get a deal over the line.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly not given up on trying to sign Club Brugge winger Antonio Nusa.

Head coach Ange Postecoglou has already been able to add Radu Dragusin and Timo Werner to his squad during the January transfer window.

However, at least one more signing is expected to be made before the end of the January transfer window, whether that be for a player to immediately join the squad or at a later date.

According to reports from last week, Nusa falls into the second of those brackets, Spurs attempting to negotiate a deal with Club Brugge before allowing the prospect to spend the remainder of the season in Belgium.

While that deal appeared to be progressing smoothly, it was later alleged that Brentford had overtaken Spurs in the race to conclude a deal before the end of the month.

The Bees are said to have agreed to pay Club Brugge a fee of £25.6m for the 18-year-old and, like with Spurs, allow him to stay at his current club for the rest of 2023-24.

Nevertheless, according to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs, who are posting on X, Brentford are ready to scrap their efforts to conclude a deal due to back and knee issues in the medical.

As a result, the Daily Mail claims that Spurs now consider themselves back in the race for Nusa's signature.

At this point, it is unclear whether the alleged revelations in the medical will result in Spurs attempting to renegotiate terms with their Club Brugge counterparts.

Despite the reported issues, Nusa has been provided with regular senior action this season, making a total of 28 appearances in all competitions.

Four goals and three assists have been contributed from 1330 minutes of football, while he has also earned four senior caps for Norway since July.

Newcastle United and Fulham have also been credited with an interest in Nusa at different points in January, as have Chelsea with the starlet fitting their preferred profile for new signings.

Meanwhile, Club Brugge appear willing to conclude a transfer before the end of the month, even with Nusa possessing a contract until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.
