Valencia edge past Getafe

Valencia bring an end to a winless run of four matches in La Liga with a narrow 1-0 victory at Getafe.

Valencia have ended a winless run of four matches in La Liga with a narrow 1-0 victory at Getafe.

The visitors nearly broke the deadlock in the 26th minute, but Francisco Alcacer's header rattled the crossbar.

However, Valencia took the lead four minutes before half time when Dorlan Pabon found the top corner with a fierce long-range strike.

Getafe pushed hard for an equaliser during the second half, with Pedro Leon, Lisandro Lopez and Alexis all coming close for the hosts.
