How Juventus could line up against Bologna

Sports Mole looks at how Juventus could line up for Saturday's Serie A clash with Bologna.

Juventus host Bologna as Serie A resumes following the international break.

The Bianconeri leapfrogged Inter Milan with a 2-1 win last time out, thanks to goals from Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain, to go top of the table.

Maurizio Sarri's side are now the only unbeaten team in Italy's top tier and hold a slender one-point lead over Antonio Conte's title challengers.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Juventus could line up for Saturday's showdown.

Possible JUV XI vs. BOL

Out: Giorgio Chiellini (knee), Mattia Perin (shoulder), Mattia De Sciglio (muscle), Douglas Costa (muscle)
Doubtful: Danilo (muscle)

Sarri has recently shifted from his preferred 4-3-3 formation to a midfield diamond that allows him to give Cristiano Ronaldo a strike partner and get the best out of Federico Bernardeschi and Aaron Ramsey behind the frontmen, and he is likely to persist with the shape.

First-choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is likely to start between the sticks ahead of Gianluigi Buffon, with the familiar faces of Leonardo Bonucci, Matthijs de Ligt and Alex Sandro in front of him in the back four. However, with both Danilo and De Sciglio likely to be sidelined with injury, Sarri will be forced to continue with Juan Cuadrado on the right of the defensive line.

Sarri has shown an obvious preference for fielding Blaise Matuidi and Sami Khedira either side of deep-lying playmaker Miralem Pjanic, and can be expected to continue with that trio. Ahead of them, Bernardeschi has been in good form and is likely to retain his place.

Ronaldo is a near-guaranteed starter, but the identity of his strike partner is less clear. Both Higuain and Dybala have featured alongside him, and both scored against Inter, but the older man could be favoured by Sarri, who has used Dybala more sparingly since taking the reins.
