Liverpool can clear another significant hurdle on their path to Premier League stardom on Wednesday night, when Newcastle United rock up to Anfield for an intriguing midweek encounter.
Arne Slot's side moved 11 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the table with their 2-0 beating of Manchester City on Sunday, where the exhilarating Mohamed Salah was at the heart of the action once more.
The 32-year-old scored his side's first before teeing up Dominik Szoboszlai, meaning that he has now registered both a goal and assist in 11 separate Premier League games this season, and he is no stranger to both individual and collective success over Newcastle.
Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at Salah's record against the Magpies ahead of Wednesday's Premier League battle.

Easily Mohamed Salah's favourite side to play against from a team perspective, the Liverpool winger has not lost any of his 16 previous meetings with Newcastle United; he has not faced any other team on more occasions without ever suffering defeat.
The Egypt international has been involved in 12 wins and four draws against the Magpies down the years, and he has unsurprisingly contributed heavily to his personal unbeaten record, averaging over one goal contribution per game.
Indeed, Salah has been directly involved in 17 strikes from 16 games versus Newcastle - 10 of his own and seven assists - and he is the second-highest documented scorer in the history of this fixture, only behind Michael Owen's 14.
Salah did briefly square up to Newcastle during his Chelsea days, coming off the bench in a 3-0 home win in the 2013-14 Premier League season, and he has since been terrorising the Magpies for fun in a Liverpool shirt.
The attacker has either scored or assisted in each of his last five appearances versus Newcastle, totalling a staggering 10 goal contributions in those 450 minutes of football - an average of one in every half - and setting up a teammate in all of them.
Salah scored two of his own and set up another in the Reds' engrossing 3-3 draw with Newcastle in December 2024, 11 months on from an identical haul in Liverpool's 4-2 home win over the Magpies.
From Salah's 15 games against Newcastle in a Liverpool jersey, the Egyptian has only failed to score or assist in four of them, last drawing a blank in the Reds' 1-0 away win in April 2022 as a second-half substitute.
If the ex-Chelsea man conjures up two goals or more on Wednesday, he will become just the second Reds player after the aforementioned Owen to score at least twice in three straight Premier League games against a single team; the Englishman did so four times in a row against none other than Newcastle between 1998 and 2001.
