Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly prepared to gazump Barcelona's financial package for departing Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly refusing to give up hope of beating Barcelona to the signing of free agent midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Netherlands international said goodbye to Liverpool last month after failing to agree terms on a new contract, with his current deal set to expire on June 30.

Barca are the strong favourites to sign the 30-year-old, having already snapped up Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia on free transfers this week.

However, PSG have also been linked and, according to ESPN, the French giants are prepared to offer Wijnaldum a more generous financial package.

With the former Newcastle United man delaying a decision, it is claimed that German champions Bayern Munich may also yet be in the running for his signature.

Wijnaldum spent five seasons at Anfield, making 237 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions and scoring 22 goals.
