England striker Wayne Rooney has slammed the doubters who have questioned his commitment to the national side.
The Manchester United forward has been forced to miss the Three Lions World Cup qualifying clashes with Moldova and Ukraine over the next week, after suffering a nasty cut when training for his club.
Some fans had played down the severity of Rooney's problem, but the 27-year-old has hit back at his critics by posting a picture of the injury to his official Facebook page.
"Some people seem to be questioning my commitment to the England squad and the fact I had to pull out of the two games," Rooney wrote on the social media site.
"There's nothing I would like more than to be helping the lads in the qualifiers. I'm sure people will see from these images the reason why I won't be able to play."
England host Moldova on Friday before travelling to the Ukraine on Tuesday.
