Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson refutes fresh reports that Wayne Rooney could become a Paris Saint-Germain player this summer.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has once again refuted suggestions that striker Wayne Rooney could leave Old Trafford for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

The England international's future with the Red Devils has come under scrutiny in recent months, with some reports claiming that a deal to the Ligue 1 outfit has been agreed in principal.

Despite speculation, Ferguson has reiterated that Rooney will not be offloaded to the French club, and clarifies why the forward was substituted during United's 2-2 draw with West Ham United this week.

When asked about the rumours, Ferguson said in a press conference: "I can't tell you about that. As far as taking him off on Wednesday, he wasn't playing as well as Shinji [Kagawa] was. I don't think there's anything in [the PSG speculation] at all."

Meanwhile, there have been some suggestions that Rooney wants to sign a new contract.
